The Nude – Arising from the Ground work consists of an installation containing 4 sculptures, multiple series of photo works, and a film, focusing on the obese body in motion and the animalistic aspects of the human body. The work was inspired by a photogravure acquired from Muybridge’s photo series Human and Animal Locomotion, ‘Arising from the Ground’ (plate 286, 1885).
